Usage of C and Ku Band in Africa For VSAT internet

Satellite Connectivity in Africa is pretty popular, particularly the VSAT system. Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) is ideal for providing in internet coverage to remote areas of the region. Much like any other mobile communication technology, VSAT system also requires a frequency for operation.  VSAT C and Ku-bands are the two main bands for VSAT communications.  C-band is ideally chosen for locations where there is heavy rainfall, such as tropical regions of Africa. C-band is known to be less focused in comparison to higher satellite frequencies like the Ku-band. This happens due to the longer wavelength in C band. Having less focused signals means that they are less affected by rain. Ku band, on the other hand, is perfect for situations there is a limited area for installation, as it features a smaller dish size and is easy to install. From a commercial standpoint, Ku-band can be better for satellite applications that requires smaller bandwidth, as the equipment is more cost-effective than C-band. In certain cases, Ka-Band in Africa is used as well.  You can always explore the web to get detailed insights on these bands, as well as VSAT Teleport in Africa.
